  • President Obama, Keep Endangered Species Protections for Ginny

  • Dear President Obama,

  • "Ginny," the West Virginia Northern Flying Squirrel, is in trouble!

  • Ginny is the beloved signature species of West Virginia's highest-elevation boreal forests.  But her species' population numbers are low -- well less than a thousand in the entire world!

  • Mr. President, federal protection efforts are necessary NOW for Ginny to survive in the face of climate change, energy extraction, and logging.  The Fish and Wildlife Service and the Forest Service must begin at once to collect baseline data on squirrel populations, and to set aside habitat – or else Ginny faces extinction.  Please act NOW!
