Endangered, Threatened, Rare and Protected Species

The West Virginia Highlands, with its incredibly unique ecology is the home to many endangered and threatened species. We have tasked ourselves with making sure that all the protections due them under the Endangered Species Act are enforced under the law. Here we showcase some of those species.

In a stunning development a suit filed by several interested parties in Greenbrier County, WV challenging decisions to allow Beech Ridge Energy to develop a large wind farm in an area known to contain habitat for endangered Indiana bats has resulted in a halt to all work until a Habitat Conservation Plan and other documents are obtained.
