We love sharing a building with the Buxton and Landstreet Gallery, we are excited to once again be collaborating with the B&L for a reception. This time we are celebrating a new display of nature-focused artwork from Ruth Blackwell Rogers, which will be at the B&L beginning May 25th. The reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the B&L Gallery, and will feature a talk from the artist, explaining the inspiration behind her work. There will also be free snacks, live music, and a chance to meet with Friends of Blackwater and learn more about our programs.
If you get to the B&L early, you can also learn more about the history of the building. Beginning around 5:30, Friends of Blackwater will be giving an informal history talk on the former Buxton and Landstreet Company Store and the nearby Davis Coal and Coke Company Engineering Building.
