FOB’s 2020 Volunteer of the Year

IMG_0841

Congratulations to Pam Lutz for receiving the Friends of Blackwater’s 2020 Volunteer of the Year award!

Pam was a tremendous help this past fall as FOB began the botanical restoration project along the Blackwater Rail Trail. She volunteered on several Wednesday mornings and tagged many of the invasive species that were later cut down and removed with the help of other volunteers. She also helped on one of these invasive removal days and single-handedly took down one of the biggest invasive honey suckle trees we had ever seen!

Thank you for all that you’ve done for FOB, Pam!

If you’re interested in volunteering with FOB in our heritage, water monitoring, botany, or trails programs in 2021, email info@saveblackwater.org or visit https://saveblackwater.org/volunteer/

You can read more about invasive species here!
