Our Heritage Signage Open House in Parsons, WV was a success! Thank you to all that attended this reception on Monday, March 9th, to view the newly hung miniature copies of our Blackwater Rail Trail signs in Piccolo Paula’s. Joe Dumire gave a great lecture about the local railroad industry and how it changed through time, carrying lumber and coal across the country for over a century, eventually ceasing to exist in Thomas in the 1980s.
In addition to this new installation, we were celebrating the installment of the signs in the Tucker County Courthouse. Stop by the Courthouse next time you drive through Parsons and check out our signs on the second floor! Or take a stroll along the Blackwater Rail Trail and view the original eleven signs.
Thank you to Robin McClintock for helping us spread these great signs all around Tucker County and promoting local Tucker County history.
