Beaver Creek Automated Sensor Data

Thanks to grants from North Face and the WVDEP's Watershed Improvement Branch, Friends of Blackwater programmed and installed automated remote sensors with the help of Garrett College. Northern Garrett High School, and Mountain Laurel Learning Coop in Beaver Creek in 2019. Over the past year, these sensors collected water quality data every single minute!

True to its name, Beaver Creek is home to several beavers and, unfortunately, those beavers chewed right through the wires of these sensors. For now, the automated sensors are out of commission, but we have almost a full year of data to help us understand the water quality found within the Blackwater Watershed.
