Great news! Friends of Blackwater is looking to bring on a new team member focused on these things, as we are currently hiring a VISTA member for 2020.
This position will be focused on studying and creating materials related to the industrial and cultural history of Tucker County. The position’s duties will include helping create and place signage, documenting events, contributing to social media and outreach, and assisting with resource development.
The position will be based in Friends of Blackwater’s Thomas, WV office. This position will last one (1) year with possibility for extension. The position also comes with a number of perks and benefits including: “Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend, Health Coverage*, Living Allowance, Training, Relocation Allowance, and Childcare assistance if eligible.”
The current living allowance in WV is 479.08 biweekly (gross) which is $12,456 per year. The education award is now the equivalent of a Pell Grant which is $6,195 and the stipend is $1,800.
